Is it good or not for small children to have a pet is question that constantly provokes different opinions. There are many positive reasons, because they will not only teach children some life lessons, but they are also great friends.

Responsibility
Children who have a dog or cat will in itself create a sense of responsibility and caring for others. Animals need attention and care. When they learn to care about others, it means that they have learned to care about themselves.

Confidence
When children are successful in raising a pet, they feel good in their skin, which enhances their self-esteem, because they become proud of themselves.

They are less prone to allergies
Numerous studies show that children who have grown with pets are less prone to allergies and asthma. Children who are surrounded by allergens during their first year of life have stronger immune system.

Playing and exercise
Pets, especially dogs, need regular walking and running, and the child will realize its responsibility to take a dog for a walk. In this way, child exercises and maintains its shape.

Pets have calming effect
Animals in the home usually have calming effect on all family members, including the children. It is known that pampering cat fur (or of any other) soothes and relaxes. Also, when a child feels sad will soon find peace and consolation next to pet.
