At least not those big ones that we are used to see when we go to a blood test! And no pain!

Do you have this thing? This fear when you are sitting in a chair and watching your very lifeblood seep out of your body via needle? Or better to say you don’t like needles that much? Well here is a solution for you.

A US company developed something that could ease this blood extraction process. The blood test would be a device of the size of a ping pong ball. You hold it against your skin for two minutes and blood is sucked out with a vacuum into an attached tube. The sample can be mailed then or hand-delivered to a lab.

The technology uses the flow of tiny fluid stream. It is able to dominate gravity and the blood can stay in the channel no matter how you hold it.

So no puncturing the veins. The user simply holds the device against the skin and it creates a slight vacuum that immediately starts to pull blood from many microscopic open channels or capillaries.

It collects the blood into an attached collection container. It can extract about 0.15 cubic centimetres of blood. That’s enough for most routine lab analyses.

The ones that tried it say it’s almost entirely painless. DARPA even got involved in the funding part of this story. They wanted to figure out how to keep the blood at an optimal temperature for the trip to the lab.

This could also target the people who need to test blood frequently in order to monitor cancer or chronic infectious diseases. So no expensive machines just a tiny little device and two minutes of time.

It sounds revolutionary!

It could appear on the market in 2016!

Since the author is also afraid of needles there won't be a video here!
