''Early bird catches the worm.''

Rising early is one of those goals that we set for ourselves with every New Year resolution, along with 'I will train more' and 'I'll be healthier'. Compared to these missions, it doesn’t seem complicated to become a morning person.

Of course, no one is happy when the alarm clock goes off early in the morning, but there is no use of complaining because this article is about getting up early in the morning.

Most of us just need to make some small changes in our everyday lives if we want to wake up early in the morning. Actually, if we want to wake up RESTED early in the morning.

Do it gradually

If you want to get up every day - you need to get a routine. The simplest way is to set the clock before sleeping, but try to avoid extreme measures (going to bed at 8:30, waking up at 5:00), but try to do it gradually. You set the clock, every day, 10 minutes earlier than the previous week. Snooze option is not allowed at all. Once your body gets used to getting up in the morning, you will naturally start going to bed early.

Turn off all devices

It is very important to turn off all the devices an hour before bedtime so that the mind settles down, because we all know that 'only 5 minutes' or 'just to reply a message' can be converted to multiple hours of buzzing over the Internet. During this time, cook tea, prepare a warm bath or training equipment for the next morning.

Fresh air and training

It is well known that physical activity has a positive influence on quality of sleep and removal of insomnia, and at the same time helps to have more energy during the day. If you can, it would be ideal to do the morning training to get up and start the body. If you enjoy training in the afternoon, try not to be too late.

The environment

Before you go to sleep, open the windows to get the fresh air in. Light music can help you fall asleep faster, but that depend on the habits you have. Bedroom should be free of all tech. That means no TV, no smartphone, no laptop. Bedroom is for sleeping… or other healthy activities.

Estimate how much sleep you need

Although it is estimated that it takes about 7 to 8 hours of sleep to feel restful, this can’t apply to everyone. There is no golden rule. Try to experiment with hours of sleep. And after a while you will be able to find optimal hours and number of hours you need to sleep.
