Fresh and honest Netflix Original reviews from a dedicated viewer.

Considering the hours, I spend on Netflix, I’ve decided to do reviews on the newest movies and shows that Netflix is launching.

And while there are many websites and blogs that do reviews, I felt the need to do something on my own, as I am often not happy with the quality of reviews! People often write reviews based on the few episodes of a show or a part of a movie, just so they can be the first to publish.

That’s not going to happen here. I will be publishing only reviews on the titles that I’ve seen in its entirety.
Because this is supposed to be an intro-article, I’ll give you a list of Netflix Original titles that you should start with. Remember: binge-watching is always an option!

Netflix Original Shows:

House of Cards

House of Cards is the show that put Netflix Originals on the map. With its smart writing, incredible cast performances and fourth wall breaks, it’s became one of the most beloved shows in history.

The series is based in Washington DC and follows the life of Frank Underwood, a US Congressman and member of the Democratic Party, and his wife Claire Underwood.

At the beginning of the series, he is the leader of the majority in the lower house of the US Congress, and the series will follow his ascent to the position of the 46th president of the United States.

Frank is a person who is a personification of politics - unscrupulous, overwhelming and eager to rule.

Entering the political campaign of Gareth Walker for the US president, Frank was promised the post of Secretary of State. However, after taking the victory, Walker tells Underwood that he will not be getting the position of Secretary of State because he is more needed in the Congress, because of the talent for collecting votes. Underwood, along with his wife Claire, begins a political quest of executing revenge against all who have betrayed him.

In the role of Frank Underwood, one of Hollywood's best actors - Kevin Spacey. His wife Claire Underwood is played by Robin Wright, while other roles are interpreted by Michael Kelly, Kate Mara, Mahershalla Ali, Molly Parker and many others.

The "House of Cards" series received great reviews and several nominations for prestigious awards, including nominations for "Emmy" awards - for the best drama series, the best actor and best actress.

The series also won the Golden Globe Awards, when Robin Wright won the title for the main actress and Kevin Spacey for the lead actor.

Take a closer look at American bureaucracy and high-profile politics, and know that the show is ending with Season 6.

Narcos / Narcos Mexico

The lives of Pablo Escobar, The Cali Cartel, El Padrino, described with meticulous detail (and well-adjusted creative freedom) show us the power of cocaine trade that lasts even today. A very brave endeavor that includes state politicians, police and army leaders. No one is safe and no one is untouchable.

Marvel’s Daredevil / Punisher / Jessica Jones

Why only these three? Because I believe Luke Cage and Iron Fist are a waste of your time and they both got canceled.

Daredevil launched Marvel on Netflix and it continues to be great even after Season 3.

Punisher is my favorite comic antihero and he has a very special place in my life, but I tried not to be biased, but the show is brutal and catches the essence of Punisher. Waiting for Season 2.

Jessica Jones did a great job with Season 1, and while I find Season 2 a bit too long and not particularly interesting, I can’t wait to see what happens to Jessica in the future.

There are many more shows, but I had to pick the ones I love and that are still fresh.

Netflix Movies

Outlaw King

At the moment of writing this article, Outlaw King is one of the freshest releases from Netflix.

The beginning of the fourteenth century, Scotland is occupied by England, specifically King Edward I Most of the noblemen, some of whom have a claim on the throne of the King of Scotland, along with other Scottish nobles have been fighting for years to free Scottish lands, but they are not unique in that intention.

After a severe defeat and terrible human losses, they have to retreat again, make an apparent peace and honor King Edward, who continues to commit terrible crimes. The people are not at peace with this, especially after the terrible public execution of the Scottish hero William Wallace, which brings unrest in the circles of the nobles, most notably Robert Bruce. He decides, with the help of the church, to crown himself King of Scotland and to embark on a bloody, decisive campaign of reclaiming Scotland.

It is impossible to avoid immediately linking a movie with a very close, close-knit and well-known Braveheart. The events in the film take place after the action of Braveheart, where Robert Bruce was a calculated politician who doesn’t care for the people.

Outlaw King is not a Braveheart, nor pretends to be - this is a bloody biographical historical drama, which in turn brings us a portrait of King Robert Bruce, who earlier (mostly thanks to Braveheart) was portrayed as a villain in history. With this film he finally got his justice.

Also, the opening scene of the film is cinematic gold!
