Anyone involved in writing knows how important it is to write a text without error.

We can make some mistakes during writing a text, but it would be a big problem if the inscription on the billboards or the advertising panel on the bus station is incorrect. That's why you should always check in the written form, and one of the ways to make sure that everything is underneath are various programs and applications that check the text for you.

There are many applications and programs that check the spelling and grammar of the English language.

1. GRAMMARLY

One of the best applications for correcting text in English. All you have to do is create a profile, add an extension to your web browser and start writing. Grammarly corrects grammar and spelling but also gives you statistics about the written body - the number of characters, words, sentences, the weight of reading, and more. You can write directly in Grammarly or copy the already written text. Problem words will be highlighted in red and when you click on them you will get suggestions for edits. You can also choose whether to write in the British or American version of the English language. There is also a premium version of the monetary compensation application where there are a few more options for proofreading and correction. In addition to the application, there is also a Grammarly blog with helpful tips and texts on writing and written communication.

2. HEMINGWAY EDITOR

What distinguishes Hemingway Editor from the competition is that it is very easy to use. You can type the text directly in the program itself or copy the existing one. On the right, you can see the readability of the text. This program focuses specifically on five "sins" in English writing: the use of attachments (underlined in blue), the use of passive (green), simpler alternatives (violet), heavy (yellow) and very heavy (red) sentences for reading. It does not guarantee that you will write like Ernest Hemingway, but certainly, your text will be more readable and understandable after you have adopted all the proposed changes.

3. SLICK WRITE

This application that checks the English text is a mixture of the previous two. But what makes Slick Write special is the ability to choose when the check itself is concerned. In the Settings section, you can precisely pinpoint what you're experiencing with problems and where you're weaker in writing. Thus, some of the offered options are the use of slang, clichés, the use of unnecessary words such as "very" and "real", the use of passives, the writing of long sentences, sentences beginning with the same word, the use of the so-called "weasel" words (those that do not have a concrete meaning ), using more words when only one is enough, and so on.

4. GINGER

If you like to expand your vocabulary on a daily basis, Ginger is an application for you. In addition to the basic text editing option, Ginger has his own searches to help you search for word definitions and their synonyms without the addition of bowling and an abandonment of the application. You can also build a personal dictionary by adding specific words that are not in English standard vocabulary but which need not be changed (for example, personal names, company names, foreign words, etc.).
