I read a text about how Gov. Paul LePage had a speech about should children have a work option or not and, that seemed interesting to me, so I decided to write few words about it on my own.
LePage told that enabling work option to children would just improve their economy and not allowing them to work would harm them. He also told that he was 11 years old when he started working and he became a Governor. Yes, there should be a limit, what a kid can do and what the kid can't do. For example, the job of a paperboy is great for someone who is under 16, or working at a store and sorting bottles. He said that older people who are more experienced and productive should concentrate on their jobs where their contribution would be higher. Because of that, as LePage said, the Government should allow children to work. They will create working habits and they will get their own money.
What is my opinion about this is that children should be allowed to work legally, because working habits are important more than everything, If someone got everything in his life served, he will hardly start creating something on his own. Because of that, children should get their right to work, not obligation, RIGHT. The only problem is that, this is possible in countries with low percentage of unemployment, but, in countries where there are 15 or even 20% of unemployed people, this would be impossible.
Another thing, by working, children get into business. They learn many things they couldn't learn at school, they have practical knowledge. By having a right to work, children will become responsible, they will have less spare time,so they won't be spending hours or even days playing computer games. Also, it wouldreduce the number of addicts - alcoholics, drug addicts and other.
So, my opinion would be - children should have their right to work.
