“We will not tolerate new waves of tension and deaths. We will never allow streets to become battlefields. I don’t want anyone to arm our young people with Molotov’s cocktails, rocks and knives and send them to streets”, said Erdogan in his speech near Istanbul.
So far, Erdogan didn’t speak about victims of the latest demonstrations. One 22 years old person got killed, and one 30 years old policeman died of heart attack.
Protests started because young boy Berkin Elvan died, who was wounded last Jun, on great demonstrations in Istanbul and since then he was in coma. As Elvan’s family claims, he was in the wrong place in the wrong time, because he went to buy bread.

Erdogan claims the opposite, that little Elvan was a member of a terrorist organization and that he shot at police, and they couldn’t know his age because he had a mask.
“It is obvious that those who don’t want elections are going to the street. I invite leaders of opposition to act responsibly”, said Erdogan.
This week’s protests just increased the tension for the corruption scandal from December, where the main subjects were Erdogan and his closest cooperates.
