Like other car manufacturers, Mercedes is working on improvement of hybrid vehicles in order to improve car performances and reduce fuel consumption. 

Intelligent HYBRID" system is developed in cooperation with Mercedes's F1 team. Thanks to "Comand Online" navigation, the system gets necessary information about field angle on the part of the road in front of the vehicle in order to calculate the required potential for battery recharging on that part of the road. 

Considering that electromotor - electric power is a support for car propulsion at uphills and it is recharged at downhills, the system analyzes these information in order to make battery recharging optimized. This way, they will reduce fuel consumption of one engine which is the part of this hybrid. 

The amount of fuel saved depends of the terrain, but people in Mercedes explain that you will save more fuel if you are driving somewhere where there are lots of ups and downs.
