IMF Considers Giving 17 Bln Euros Loan to Ukraine

IMF mission has recommended a stabilization loan to Ukraine in amount of $ 17 billion, according to Bloomberg.

 This loan should help the government due to the forecasted economic decline of five per cent.

Analysts of the Fund handed over to the Executive Council of the IMF document on loan program of Ukraine on April 22, said the sources that had access to referral. The authors of the document proposed that the question of giving financial assistance will be considered at their meeting on April 30.

Based on consultations with the government of Ukraine that lasted for several weeks, representatives of the IMF concluded that the country needs a sum on upper limit of the previous agreed range of 14 to 18 billion dollars.

IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde had said earlier, that Board of the Fund considered financial assistance to Ukraine in late April - early May.
