Have you ever heard of red bananas? Probably most of you haven’t. So you should know, except yellow bananas for which we all know there are red bananas! The real name of this banana is Red Dacca Banana.
Red bananas grow in Asia and South America, and are well known in Australia. They are much smaller than the yellow bananas. Also, they are much softer and sweeter than bananas that we used and their taste reminiscent of raspberry.
They are most eaten and most popular in Central America, where they are mostly exported. Banana grows to an average height of about 7m. Most varieties are perennial plants. Red banana is even sweeter so it is ideal for cakes as well as fruit salads.
Red bananas are picked while still green, and ripen in special rooms or even during transport. Maturation can be accelerated by placing bananas in paper bags. Otherwise, as the yellow, red bananas are also favorite fruit all over the world.
Bananas are good source of vitamin B6, as well as soluble fiber. Less ripe bananas contain more starch and less sugar and more mature vice versa. Red bananas contain a certain amount of potassium, manganese and a lot vitamin C. They also have lot of the calories and give the same amount of calories as potatoes.
Somewhere say that banana is a cure, because regular consumption of bananas provides proper digestion of food. Regular use reduces the risk of colon cancer and kidney cancer. Some people use the inside of the banana peel to polish the teeth because they become whiter and shinier.
