Keyboard shortcuts are very useful, especially if you use computer a lot. Keyboard shortcus are created in order to make people more productive. If you are bussy, it would help you a lot if you could just press few buttons at the same time than searching for the option manualy.

Keyboard shortcuts that you probably didn’t know
This article is about keyboard shortcuts that will enable you to work faster on your computer, so, it will improve your productivity. Probably you already use some of these shortcuts, like Ctrl+C for copying, Ctrl+V for pasting or some other shortcut. This way, we want to ensure you that keyboard shortcuts are necessary, especially if you are using computer often. If you didn’t know that there are keyboard shortcuts at all, then, this article will help you a lot.


Keyboard shortcuts for browsers (Chrome, Opera, Mozilla Firefox,…)


Ctrl + T – for opening new tab
Ctrl + N – for opening new window
Ctrl+Shift+N (Chrome only) – for opening new incognito window
Ctrl + - for zooming out the web page you are looking at
Ctrl + + - for zooming in the web page you are looking at
Ctrl + 0 – resets the web page size to natural size
Ctrl + Page Up/Page Down – switching tabs

Windows shortcuts

Windows button – opens Start menu (Windows button is a button located between alt and ctrl)
Windows button + Pause – shows your computer’s settings
Windows button + D – Minimizes all open windows
Windows button +E – Opens Windows Explorer
Windows button + F – Starts search on your computer
Windows button + + or – zooms in or out everything that you see on your monitor
Alt + Tab – Switches from one window to another
Ctrl + Shift + Esc – Windows task manager
Alt + Shift - Switch between different languages in language bar

Easy shortcuts for copying


Depending on your keyboard, these shortcuts could be a lot easier because of better positioning and bigger buttons.
Ctrl + Insert – Used instead of option “Copy”
Shift + Insert – Used instead of option “Paste”


If you knew for more than half of these shortcuts, you may call yourself an advanced computer user.
