The old generation might not know how to tweet or facebook, but they are as talented as the millenial generation. You will need to have the different generations to work together. Here is a start.

With advancements in technology, so comes the crisis of a disparity in business between the digital folks and the old folks. This has created a generational divide that holds both promise and peril for leaders, managers and HR heads. There is a great difference that has come up due to technology in the generations where youngsters will be on twitter, facebook, posting photos on instagram as they watch their favorite videos on their phones. This they do while researching on a paper on their tabs all of which they are comfortable doing with ease. But the old folks prefer their traditional paper to get there news and still have those big traditional Tv sets in their offices. The emerging generations are living a world that did not exist a decade ago. For the Generation Xers and boomers the world is a daunting territory and can be overwhelming. So how do managers handle the generational difference that times have created?
1. Foster communication.
Communication can be fostered in an informal setting to bring together all the generational divide. Talk about what the digital world means to you. Xers can feel inadequate in this world due to the lack of internet skills but that doesn’t mean that they are any less talented than the millennials. Also get the millennials to get involved with other generations to help get them aboard as one block but with different skills.
2. Demystify.
Offer classes and training to the older generation and try pairing them up with the millennials. As much as the Xers may want to remain, say a little old fashioned, they may cost you more in terms of your business as the world is slowly getting completely digitalized and they need to be on board. Once they learn the basic, they will be able to maneuver easily getting to like every experience.
3. Create a baseline.
This is a site that unites, something user friendly that everyone can be part of. Here they can integrate and inspire each other both ways. It helps keep people on the same page.
4. Be true to your culture.
As with all business lessons, one size fits no one. Tailor your generational needs to suit different needs in your enterprise. Take an inventory of where thing stand, and develop your plan accordingly.

When all is said, something needs to be done. The digital state is here to stay, and it is making our live s easier. Optimal results will depend on how the generations work together as one needs the other. Keep everyone comfortable, communicating and working from the same angle coherently.
