Today, using the power of marketing for free can be a great advantage for many companies.

There are many proven studies that can show us that: Airbnb, Uber, Dropbox and others. Many people are calling this approach - growth hacking.

"Growth hacking is a process of rapid experimentation across marketing channels and product development to identify the most effective, efficient ways to grow a business.

Growth hackers are marketers, engineers and product managers that specifically focus on building and engaging the user base of a business." (From Wikipedia)

The expression “Growth Hacker” was first used by Sean Ellis in 2010. Growth hacking is a skill - set of products, marketing and engineering. Growth hacker must have the ability to drive exponential growth of the company (usually it’s social media activity).

Who is growth hacker?

A growth hacker is the one who deals with data analysis and has just one goal in their mind - growth. He is a planner, the tactician for the product. Growth hackers are the ones who can ask the production team to change the product based on their customer data. They can also give their insights about what’s the best marketing channel to gain more users based on their experiment marketing.

How to become one?

First of all, you must realize that if you want to do growth hacking you must prepare for war. There is a huge competition, and just of your strategy depend on how successful you will be.

Living as a growth hacker is not just about acquiring users for your products. It is more about testing different strategies by hand. You must be prepared to invest a lot of manpower and time.

There are process cycles for growth hacking. Most people call it as Growth hacking cone or known as AARRR Metrics (stands for Activation, Acquisition, Referral, Retention, and Revenue). This entire cone must be well-recorded in the procedure of growth hacking. Each of experiment must be complete in this life-cycle.

Growth hacking demand different approach to market and growth hackers must think outside of the box.
