Work is a huge part of lives, and a big part of work is stress. Read on and learn how to manage stress at work.

With all the noise, traffic, fast-food and tech around us we are more stressed than ever. You get to your work, and strict deadlines are waiting. You even bring work home sometime, trying to meet your boss’s or client’s needs. It becomes a chronic work stress and it just eats you body and your mind.

In order to prevent many complications that derive from large quantities of stress, here are a few tips on how to manage stress while you are at work.

Avoid Negativity

If you work with many people, you will have to deal with many different profiles of personality and also deal with their individual mood. By minimizing your contact and unnecessary communication with those who constantly demand something or complain, you are keeping yourself safe from a big chunk of stress you don’t need. Negativity is known to kill your own mood and leave you feeling lethargic and it will also influence your work. Avoid bloodsuckers!

Keeping away from one kind of co-workers gives you a chance to spend more time with those who are cheerful, who tell funny stories and generally make you feel better about yourself, work and life.

Healthy Lifestyle

In order to function well on work, healthy lifestyle is essential. You can’t go drinking all night, come to work and complain about all the tasks you get. You may then be the bloodsucker from above.

Make sure you get a healthy good night sleep. Some say 7 hours, other 8 hours. It is important that you know your body and mind well, so if you need more than that to feel energetic, adjust your life accordingly.

Other aspect of healthy lifestyle is food. And I mean real food. All those snacks, hot-dogs, burgers etc are not helping your professional (more importantly personal) life. Snacks, and all the fat and sugar from them, will leave you feeling tired, sleepy and without energy. And that will just contribute to your stress levels at work going through the roof.

Workout

The number of people with sedentary jobs is growing and sitting is killing your body and mind. Make sure you exercise regularly in order to relieve all the tension and stress the work is throwing at you. And when I say exercise, don’t think just going to the gym. Ideally, that would be great, but if you don’t have time, just go for a walk or do some quick workouts at home. Find at least 30 minutes a day to invest in your health through workout! It will help you relax, clear your mind and increase your focus at work and in life. Get thoses good hormones moving!

Turn of Tech

You shouldn’t be online all day long. Don’t look at the screens all the time just because you have a chance to. If you don’t expect any important emails today, don’t check it all the time. If you are not going to post anything on Facebook, don’t go there. Go for some digital detox, turn of the smartphone and get away from it all with a help of a nice book or some extra family time.
